I wanted to start this new blog out with an introduction, but this question has been brought to my attention more than once; so I wanted to address it and give my opinion (plus this should be more interesting than an introduction).
So, what is considered "normal" in todays society? I think I know what "normal" is. Its that perfect little family, consisting of a mom, dad, a son, and a daughter. Along with the perfect house, the dog, and the white picket fence. Dinner every evening promptly at 6:00pm. There are no arguments or disagreements or even fighting between the kids. The dog even has his manners. They are members of the PTA; she the soccer mom, and he's the baseball dad.
WHO THE HELL AM I FOOLING HERE????
This is not normal; its something out of The Stepford Wives.
If this is your life- you are NOT normal! Sorry to break it to ya!
No one is normal! I know (GASP) that is such a shocker nowadays. We live in a society where you have to have the thigh gap, or have rock hard abs; the tan skin and perfect teeth. I, my dears, have none of those. My thighs rub together, and I defiantly have no abs. The tan skin? Yeah, in the summer time when I don't use sunblock I turn into a lobster, it blisters, than a tan forms about 2 weeks later, and thats only on my arms! Perfect teeth? If you have perfect teeth, you had braces, or you NEVER drank coffee, or even smoked...do not fool me.
Why would anyone want to be "normal"? Its no fun! You are always right (well, sometimes that isn't a bad thing), and you never make mistakes (how do you learn during life)?
If you are chubby, wear glasses, have scars, have body modifications, have a disability, are a single parent, do drugs, have a variety of music you like, or anything that is outside of societys' "normal"....you my friends, are the normal ones. No one is normal. We are all different in our own ways and that is what makes us normal. We don't conform to what society says we should be, we conform society to us.
